That assumes they snap it with 0 seconds on the play clock which NEVER happens. Snap it three times with 3 seconds on the clock and there is time. Might only be a few seconds but there is time. Obviously a stupid strategy either way. Just kneel on 3rd down and game is over.

Actually not correct. If they took knees on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd down there would have been 6-8 seconds left on the clock to have to try to execute a 4th down play like Bama did today.

Take the TO after 2nd down and hopefully somebody on the sideline could have figured out we could have just knelt down. Epic ****up but guys on here *****ing about Mario saying he should have taken a TO are reaching.

My point exactly. They didn't realize they could have just taken a knee so call a TO to figure out the math. Calling a TO isn't a bad/wrong call ... especially since they were obviously brain dead at the moment.

You call a TO with 1 second on the play clock to bleed as much time off the clock so when you do take a knee the game is over. Taking a TO and then kneeling would have been the right thing to do.

Nick Saban did literally the same god **** thing today against Texas A&M. Took TO with 1 second on play clock. Then snapped ball to QB who threw the ball into the stands. Game over. Calling a TO would have been 100% acceptable.

Take a TO with 1 second on the clock and it doesn't "force" you to do anything. You're reaching.
