I think the odds are, assuming we’re left alone, that the SEC would be better for straight football recruiting. The school’s looking at a bigger picture though and the research funding and cooperation is significant in the BIG.

Thanks. I was literally looking for anything - but once you start reaching for equitable arguments it’s usually not a good sign. I think the concept I was looking for is simply economic breach.

There’s zero southern about Miami. I was born and raised there and lived in the south, mostly Virginia, for many years. No one I’ve known looks at us as part of the south. They laugh when I say we’re in the south though.

I’d like this too though selfishly want a Bay Area school. I agree with others who think that the SEC would be better for recruiting. It probably would. That said, if you’re UM, as a University the BIG is better and it’s more money just in research grants.
