…Did we not just go through this with TVD?

If anyone is going to get him to take the leap we think he’s capable of, it’s a pressure-filled, yet calculated defense like Guidry’s.

That’s the best way to use him, I trust Guidry knows this too. Let him do what he excels at, and it’ll be beneficial for everyone involved.

Pretty sure you’re right too. I also don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibility that if in 2023, James starts off again by blowing assignments and tackling with his arms, then Sam would end up taking snaps relatively early on.

You’re so mad dude, relax. Pause for a second 😉 It’s like I struck something personal. It’s just an opinion.

Yeah I remember you and holistic cane refusing to take any sort of negativity surrounding his borderline atrocious performances at times in 2022. The labrum injury for sure caused his mental lapses, lack of effort, and made him want to suplex people, but what do I know. I hope he becomes an...

Nah, someone that led the team in missed tackles for sure doesn’t have a guaranteed starting job. Not on any planet that gives a **** about football. Not sure what games you watched last season. He would push James for a starting spot, or act as a more pure safety while Guidry has James in the...

James is what he is, an intriguing chess piece that has failed to live up to the hype. A guy that’s just ok in space, and someone that should be closer to the LOS at all times / asked to defend TE’s. Nothing wrong with that, but asking him to act as a traditional safety isn’t what he excels at...

Starts over James Williams imo / can be used all over the field.

JMO, that’s them just putting something out there. I think everyone knows it’s not going to be easy after just getting to Tulane + the LSU offer.

The quieter it is, the better for us imo. Again, think about Addison and Bear to USC. Guys that had destinations in mind and let the smoke settle. The LSU offer + deadline to enroll at Miami does create unique obstacles, but I’ll take silence as a good thing until told otherwise.

Obviously this isn’t on the same level as what I’m about to reference, but I think this gets worked out similarly to Bear Alexander and Jordan Addison. Initial outburst, anger, denial…he has “interest” in other schools to make it seem like it’s not just Miami that’s feeling him, then eventually...

Maybe because he’s actually taking his job seriously after Mario chewed his a$$ out last year. Amazing what a little pressure can do

100%, literally just added a comment regarding moving James around closer to the LOS too lol, which is where he thrives. I’m totally for it. I have a feeling Guidry is going to completely transform this defense and while there might be some growing pains early, he’s going to end up being a home...

Him and Kam together with the corner additions, and our secondary has the potential to go from from scary bad with no depth, to “oh ****” Now you can move James closer to the LOS and let him do what he does best, which is attack downhill. Hopefully he’s willing to tackle now and can buy in.
