That's how they got him, IMHO. Maybe they weren't sure he was fully committed at playing only football at his next stop and so they didn't pull the trigger right after the visit. Once they got assured they give him the green light.

Yeah, I just think that you can find elite WRs in the portal more than DTs and OTs. Now, Miami (Mario) has a stigma to overcome here. Hopefully, with Dawson, the narrative will change soon.

Yes, a lot of things actually but it is not his fault that our roster has so many holes and a lack of depth. That’s YEARS of recruiting mismanagement and you can‘t fix it all in one year, especially in the trenches. OL looks good now and that’s why I think he’ll do the same with DL.

We can’t close on elite/very good portal DTs for sure but there aren’t many of them and when they are in they are a hot commodity. You do NOT want to have to rely on the transfer portal for DTs and OTs, we must recruit the HS kids better and we will (hopefully)

Elite/very good DT are very hard to get from the portal, just like elite/very good OT, we need to do a better job in HS recruiting (and we will). Miami neglected or botched the recruitment of that position for a long time now and these are the results.
