If the game was played with two basketballs, maybe Pack and Ellis exist together. You can call them what you like -- PGs, 2Gs, Combo Guards. Fact remains, they both need and want to shoot a lot. They both need to optimally play with a PG setting them up for their catch and shoot games. Ellis...

Great post. I watched FSU a lot and a big part of their problem was having poor court leadership. Nobody really knew their role well enough. IMO, Cleveland has great upside. Who's gonna be our on-court "leader" next Fall? When Wong was here, he was THAT guy for us. The guy to take the last shot...

We didn't want Omier shooting 3s. That said, despite all the snickers and guffaws when he took the occasional three, his form is actually very good. And he can make them.

Me too. But I wouldn't count on it. He's a 2G in the NBA and not sure his handle or shot is quite good enough. Those scoring drives inside he got in college will result in his eating leather in the pros.

Was never gonna happen with Pack here. Same player basically.

One of those "tweeners," not as big as you'd want in your SF (he's what, 6'4 200). Probably doesn't handle well enough, though, to have the ball in his hands alot. Is he a perimerter shooter? Who knows?

Agree on Casey. Until he has confidence in his outside shot, defenses won't have to worry about him/"play him honest." I don't think Watson and Robinson are seen as backcourt players. Both Wings? In competition for minutes vacated by Jordan Miller?

Thats the bottom line. We really havent seen enough of Casey, Watson and Robinson to have any valid opinions. If anything worries me about those three, its that Larranaga saw them all the time in practice and clearly wasnt of the opinion that any of them could help in ACC or NCAAT play.

As we focus on the Portal, gotta keep these players in mind. AJ Casey, seemingly the top guy in last year's recruiting class? Projected as a Power Forward, his future success was predicated to a degree on his developing his perimeter game. Guess that's a work still in progress? Reportedly chose...

More like there are few quality bigs out there. As usual, Portal is top heavy with perimeter players.

Don't see that at all. Sam, though tall, was a Stretch 4 (emphasis on the Stretch) whose value was mainly perimeter three point shooting. He couldn't have defended a Sanogo or Clingan if his life depended on it. Need more size, ruggedness and physicality to go all the way, as we demonstrated.

He has at least two yrs of eligibilty left I think. Immediate replacement, if signed, for Miller.

Cleveland is pretty much a dead ringer for Miller -- same size (6'7, 200), good rebounder, double figure scorer.

Love to get 6'11 Jesse Edwards from Syracuse. Talk about poetic justice!

Haven't been that impressed by Reneau. Would hope we can do better.

I'd recommend everyone reading the "Ruiz/NIL" thread on the Eye in the Sky Forum here. People been telling me all along UM NIL support is not just Mr. Ruiz. After this disclosure, sure hope they are right. If what the New Times reports is even half true, there's cause for concern IMO.

Graham Ike from Wyoming is an intriguing player. 6'9, 255. Said back in late March that Arkansas, Arizona, Arizona State, Butler, Colorado, Georgetown, Gonzaga, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas, Missouri, San Diego State, Seton Hall, Tennessee, Xavier, Washington State, and West Virginia, were some...

Yep. I don't really know anything about these "contracts." Other than the school is sorta on the outside looking in. The business deal is between a business and a player. In Pack's case, his contract was apparently for two years. As good as SOME of his games were, I don't see how there'd be any...

Of course, it has to be said that Tsiebwe made this kind of money off being the 2022 National Player of the Year in college hoops, a 1st team All-American and the winner of a half dozen other awards.
