Confirmed RB Coach Tim Harris Jr

We don't have to land all of Collins, Michel, Cook, etc. (though that would ideal), we just need to land one every 3 years. That would mean guys like Yearby/Walton/Cam etc. move to a #2/3 role they're better suited to vs being our #1 RB. But there's not a Collins/Michel/Cook type if South...

Confirmed RB Coach Tim Harris Jr

5.5 ypc is a career benchmark to use for a RB. not every individual year. But you want your #1 RB to hit 5.5 McGahee - 5.9 career ypc. McGahee averaging 4.7 ypc in 2001 isn't an issue when he's the #3 guy behind Portis (5.5 ypc) & Gore (9.1 ypc) Gore - 5.7 career ypc. Gore averaging 4.8 ypc...

Confirmed RB Coach Tim Harris Jr

Me personally i dont care where running backs get drafted in the nfl as long as they hit over that 5 ypc and over 1k rushing for the year for us. Of the Top 50 College RB's last year 50% averaged 5.5 ypc 82% averaged 5.0 ypc 5.0 ypc is a very below average ypc. It's fine if you're happy with...

Confirmed RB Coach Tim Harris Jr

@BoxingRobes - excellent points. I couldn't agree with you more. @gogeta4 - we've had 1 RB (Duke) taken on Day 1 & 2 in the last 18 NFL drafts. That's embarrassing. Why do you not want this to change? I'll put it this way - a legit RB should average 5.5+ ypc in college (Of course this stat...

Confirmed RB Coach Tim Harris Jr

CJ I see as a RB/WR hyrbid utility type player. I don't know if he's a straight up RB and think him filling out is pretty iffy. Guys like Pope, Parrish, Knighton, Yearby, etc - they just never filled out much and IMO it limited the ceiling of what they could be. Some dudes just stay lanky...

Confirmed RB Coach Tim Harris Jr

Just watched Chris Wheatley-Humphrey's Junior film and he looks like a potential to be a playmaker. Problem is - he's listed at 6-0 175. That's like Mark Pope playing RB. He's got A LOT of filling out to do. Hard to project a RB with WR frame.
