The thing people don't like is that he takes so long that he misses out on a lot of top options, and then ends up "settling" like we did with Gattis. Many coaches don't like picking a school, starting the process of moving there, then at the last minute before Spring practice starts moving...

At the end of the day all that matters is if the guy he hires is good or not. If he's good people will put up with the month long search process, because people trust it'll work out in the end... Plus I doubt he's leaking random names himself.

Like I said Litrell+Coley+ a WR coach like Wes Welker. Now idk how good Welker is but He played under Leach, and was WR coach under Shanahan and McDaniels… so if he wants to be an OC at some point this would be a good option imo…

…mainly sure. But he can still do it. Regardless you can still just hire Coley as QB coach and have Roman coaching TEs or whatever… move Field to RB coach in that scenario…

the only one that doesn’t is Litrell who coached RB/TE. So in that scenario bye Kevin Smith or Fields to off field (or RB coach) and then James Coley can be brought in to coach QBs… simple lol

Is Fields moving off field still a possibility? Obviously Fields has been a beast recruiting TEs, so don’t think he needs to be pushed out or anything. Not sure if Kevin Smith is liked by everyone but he is someone that can clearly be replaced - especially for a top recruiter or someone that OC...

Don’t think Brian Johnson leaving the Eagles to return to CFB OC makes much sense tbh. Especially with the year Hurts had. Repeat that this season an he will get an NFL OC job easily

Wrong. We need a mixture of great teachers and great recruiters. Obviously ideally you want guys that are both. But there is zero reason we can’t have one specifically to recruit when we have two db position coaches defensively.
