    Mario on Joe Rose 11/7

Funny how Manny had such a short leash with fans but Mario can lose to anyone and look like they don’t belong on the same field but it’s we have to give him time. I still believe he needs to be given time. But I’m definitely questioning him at this moment. And am very disappointed in his game...

So we should expect a few more hard fought battles with Miami OH and Temple next year?

The point still stands that most of Mario’s guys here now, some who were very good players at other schools haven’t shown us much either. So the problem is limited to the players left over from the previous regime.

What will your excuses be for next year when we are staring at missing out on another bowl game? Injuries again? That would be 6 straight years of Mario’s injury problems following him to 2 different stops. Maybe the problem will be the remaining 15-20 players still leftover from Manny’s time here?

I said maybe Brown and solely because he provides a different element. I’m not excited about him being “the” starting QB but so have excitement of him being a wildcat qb or gadget type player.

You were talking about trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. That was my response to it. The reading comprehension is on here.

Exactly we haven’t seen much of a difference in how the young guys (non Manny recruits) and transfers have looked compared to the Manny recruits this year. The only kids you can get excited about from their play this year are Rivers, Mesidor, Taylor, Kinchens, Cooper, Young, and maybe Jacurri...

Which is on the coaches. For10 months they watched film of this team last year, watched them in practice, watched 7 on 7’s, qb’s throwing to wr’s in shorts, watched these kids in the weight room and doing drills, etc. and they kept on trying to put the same square in a round hole.

I’m hoping you are right that Zo will have some input and that input is sound on Mario’s next staff because I don’t think Mario has the ability to put the kind of staff together to correct his inefficiencies.

From a talent perspective 100%. From a scheming, coaching, coaching staff symbiosis, etc he has an eye for some of it obviously from being with the Packers who were very successful while he was there but the X’s and O’s weren’t his thing.

Of course and that offense still would be more explosive and fit our talent skill set better than Gattis offense 30 years later.

    Mario on Joe Rose 11/7

What this team ran while Mario was here was a pretty explosive high powered offense with Erickson then Toretta and Randall Hill, Lamar Thomas, Horace Copeland, etc all playing outside. It was hardly the grind it out ball control offense he and Gattis envisioned.

Problem is I don’t think he is or can correctly pinpoint the issues. He keeps mentioning mentality for everything. He said mentality is the key to stop the counter. Apparently running any stunts or games by your defensive line or keying in on the guards, fb/hb/te makes no difference? It’s...

Problem is Alonzo is a talent evaluator and always has been. His background isn’t as a coach or GM evaluating coaching and dealing with coaching staffs
