    Don't forget the wild yeast that's in the air. IMO, that's the biggest reason you can't duplicate an NYC pizza, except maybe New Haven that's not too far.

    Sole Proprietor is pretty good, so I'll give them that. I've had some great lobster in MA and ME, but this last trip I had one that was as good as you'd expect from a Red Lobster in Kansas. It was not worth half the price.

    Define SFL. I'm in northern PBC and I can find great places between WPB and Stuart. Usually my wife can usually find a decent non-chain restaurant just about anywhere in FL, GA, and SC along the major routes. I can't say that up north. I'm not really talking about one stoplight towns, but places...

    Restaurants in general. You'll find a diamond in the rough at times, but I've never had great luck finding good food.

    Yup, but drive East from NYC and you'll struggle to find a great place. My relatives in CT and MA come down and marvel at the selection we have.

    Completely depends on where you're talking. There aren't a lot of great restaurants between NYC and Boston, mostly chains and mediocre diner types.
