What are you talking about? A groupie? Use your big boy voice when you talk to me. Those were the elite safeties in CFB. They were the award winners and all Americans. Phillips wasn’t trash, I’m not saying he was garbage. But he wasn’t elite either.

Yes he was a first round pick but that wasn’t based on his play at Miami. Reggie Nelson, LaRon Landry, Eric Weddle, and Michael Griffin were the elite safeties. Phillips wasn’t even on the 3rd team All American list

No all Americans, no award winners, no all acc. The better safeties went other places.

None of them stars at Miami. They are canes and I love them. But no All Americans, no award winners, and no All-ACC. The better college safeties went elsewhere. That’s the point of the thread I commented on. He said recruiting the safety position has been fine….he’s wrong.

So Ed Reed (1998) and Sean Taylor (2001). Then 21 years later James Williams, Kam, and Avantae. But we’ve done alright? What about 2001-2021?
