Maybe this has been answered further down the thread…but if a conference acquires new schools, don’t the slices of the pie — tv money — get smaller? Or do ESPN and the other networks increase the size of the pie?

Question: Isn’t it be in ESPN’s interest to throw some money the ACC‘s way to make it more viable? If the conference falls even further behind the SEC and B10, its ratings would suffer and so would ESPN’s advertising dollars.

If the SEC were all about protecting Bama and Georgia, why’d it let in Texas and Oklahoma?

Why so pessimistic? We could compete successfully in the SEC within 5 years. A 2-3 years of top 5 recruiting — which is in reach — would get us even with the top dogs. And the matchups would be incredibly ****. Guaranteed: We’d have fewer empty seats at HR.
