    USC and UCLA to B1G

Well, the Rose Bowl (PAC12-B1G) and Sugar Bowl ($EC-BIG12) are surely on life support.

And does the regular season stick at 12 games?

Bowl games become expanded CFP games. A 32-team super conference would need more than a two-team CG. Something akin to eight teams, the eventual winner playing the champion of the other 32-team super conference. Think the NFL times two, except fewer wildcards.

I’d flip Vandy and LSU. Arguably makes POD #2 tougher and #1 weaker, but there are a number of rivalries to try and maintain. Edit: never mind, was reading your initial groups, not the revised!

Ha. I couldn’t figure out who was missing!

Vanderbilt can’t be in two pods.

Miami, FSU, UF, UGA, and Clemson ?

Fair enough. I guess my image of Blacksburg and VT isn’t the same as I view other $EC college towns. But that’s admittedly an outsiders view.

Are we assuming this expansion is football only? The $EC wouldn’t want UNC basketball, if an option?

Why would the $EC want VT over UNC? Are we assuming this expansion is football only? The $EC wouldn’t want UNC basketball?

Miami, FSU, Clemson, UNC to the $EC…

Not all D1. G5 left out until the lawsuits begin to roll in… And now Amazon has a ‘monopoly’ on CFB TV Broadcasting, and back to court we go…

    USC and UCLA to B1G

In the end, with potentially two 32-team super-conferences, aren’t the P5 conferences simply merging?

    USC and UCLA to B1G

It was the $EC (UGA) and Big 8 (OU) that sued the NCAA over TV rights, anti-trust violations. That was the start of the CFB/TV explosion and helped build E$PN.

You may be right, another poster mentioned BC is not as popular locally as one might think. The upper NE in general is not a hotbed of CFB.

How so? And if so, adding BC plus Miami strengthens the conference. ND has its own variables.

    USC and UCLA to B1G

Yes. San Francisco being such a huge market (6th), plus Phoenix (11th), Seattle (12th), Denver (16th), and Sacramento (20th) makes me wonder what happens to the remaining PAC schools. A 2 super-conference world needs more than USC and UCLA.

    USC and UCLA to B1G

Why wouldn’t the B1G add Boston College? Years ago the conference accepted Rutgers solely for the NY/NJ TV market, and Maryland for the DC market. Rutgers is an historically awful football program and Maryland was/is nothing special. Boston is a top 10 Nielsen market.

And doesn’t Fox broadcast the Big 12, which added UCF, for the Orlando/Tampa market?
