If we're talking just off HS merit, NO CHANCE Richmond is best from South FL. However, if we're talking best ever including college and pro careers I don't think anyone from South Florida has a better resume than Mitch "The Rock" Richmond.

Agreed. Portillo and Martinez success at the High certainly didn't translate to the collegiate and/or pro levels. That still doesn't take away from the fact that at the HS level they helped form one of the greatest HS basketball teams in Dade County history.

All kidding aside, the only Guardiola I remember on the local basketball scene was Willy Guardiola. Back in the 80's and 90's he ran one of the best basketball camps down here. Not sure if he's related to the Guardiola's you're referring to, but that's all I got on that.
