    I wouldn't get caught up in titles. There will still be an OC hire and he will be the play caller. Consider it similar to when Richt made Thomas Jones the OC but we used RIcht's playbook and Richt was calling all the plays.

    Kenny McIntosh in 2019 and James Cook in 2018 are the last really highly ranked local guys to leave the area and both ended up at Georgia. Hickson has generally cleaned up since then. Chaney, Knighton and Franklin have been the cream of the crop in south Florida in recent years.

    You definitely need a balance but there are certain positions that don’t really need a ton of coaching and the guys in those positions are usually just there for recruiting purposes. Generally RB coaches aren’t there for coaching abilities. Usually OL and DL coaches are the premium “coaching”...

    For one, Maestro. He's a running backs coach with zero recruiting ties anywhere in this region. Considering the RB coach is just a recruiter first and foremost, I would have preferred someone with experience recruiting the southeast.
