I think he meant that everybody knew that Brown was a glorified position coach, and Richt himself ran the offense. In addition to firing his son as QB coach, Richt needed to fire himself as playcaller. Which he didn't seem to be willing to do.

Richt is a great human being in a profession full of scumbags. Nobody can doubt that. But with that being said, I think Manny's tenure has made people miss Richt as coach more than they should. Clearly Richt is a better coach than Manny, but that isn't a massive achievement. I wish we had...
