Not intentionally. I love Ed and I think he's making every effort to do the job he committed to do. And people are making this too binary (Alonzo OR Ed). Nothing would have prevented us from hiring Alonzo AND Ed.

I wouldn't call it a "joke", but the job Ed was hired to do and the job Alonzo would have been hired to do are completely different jobs.
