As I mentioned above, don't think you can rip Briles for his brief stint at FSU due to non-existent QB/OL talent. However, you can legit ask why would he join Taggart's staff when it was the equivalent of the titanic? Functionally the same as becoming Manny's OC if he was retained this year...

Its not just that the FSU QBs were bad, but the OL was not even at HS quality. That's a combo (horrid QB & OL) that no OC can overcome. I can't judge Briles by the FSU stint one way or the other.

If you take 3 WRs this year, you are likely taking a spot from 1-2 elite high 4* and 5* WRs in the 23 class. Hard to justify that unless the WR this year is beyond elite. That's definitely not Horton and IMHO, not Gibson either.
