For the “we don’t play anybody” crowd

Foote actively hated Miami football. I think Donna was pretty ambivalent on the football team.

Wagner is even worse than the MEAC teams we usually play. And I think we should never play FCS teams.

For the “we don’t play anybody” crowd

Easy non-con games that Miami can win help Diaz to stay on as coach for longer.

Actually, they played against Michigan in Dallas in 2017. They still haven’t played an OOC game at an opponent’s stadium outside Florida since 1991. Anyway, why are we using the Gaytors as an excuse for our weak *** OOC schedules?

It could prevent us from making the playoffs at 12-1. Not that it seems very likely we'll go 12-1 any time soon.

TAMU isn't even a good team. But I still think they'll kill us.

For the “we don’t play anybody” crowd

Randy said nothing about OOC schedules. Or if he did, apparently Dee didn't listen. Richt's schedules were probably basically made when Golden was coach. While I don't think Richt was asking for easy OOC schedules, I think he was happy with the easy OOC schedules that had been created for him...

For the “we don’t play anybody” crowd

Al Golden outright admitted in his lawsuit that he demanded weaker OOC scheduling. Schedules are made years in advance, so his demands are part of the reason why we still have weak OOC schedules now. Plus, once the OOC schedules are watered down, Golden's successors want to keep it that way...

For the “we don’t play anybody” crowd

Andy Gustafson, who left after 1966, is the last Miami coach to last longer than 6 years. Really amazing.

For the “we don’t play anybody” crowd

Texas plays 9 conference games nowadays, and some of those years (including after when they went to 9 conference games) they played 2 power conference teams. Texas haven't played an FCS team since 2006, while Miami hasn't not played an FCS team since 2007. Moreover, their non-power conference...

For the “we don’t play anybody” crowd

2021 will be the first time since 2012 that we played two power conference teams OOC in the same year. (Since 2013 if you count USF as having been a power conference team in 2013, since the AAC inherited the automatic BCS berth from the Big East that year.) Moreover, we play C-USA, Sun Belt...

For the “we don’t play anybody” crowd

MSU was good when we actually scheduled the game. I think the Miami admin was intending for that to be good opposition. South Carolina? Eh, don’t really know why we scheduled them. They just seem like a warm body to fulfill the ACC’s one power 5 requirement.

For the “we don’t play anybody” crowd

And we only play Clemson twice every 12 years. Except when we actually make the ACC title game.

For the “we don’t play anybody” crowd

We usually have one non-con opponent in the top 25, and 2 others that wouldn't even be ranked in the top 75 if they ranked that far. And, of course, one FCS opponent. Our non con schedule always sucks. It's ridiculous. And our ACC schedule sucks too. Especially ever since FSU has declined.
