Don't pay that guy any mind. People like him can not be reasoned with. They've scripted their incoherent arguments in their own head and simply use others as sounding boards.

But American media is inundated with troop worship. Every major sporting event is soaked in it as well. Probably part of the reason people can be so apathetic about it because all the "celebration of the troops" is just lip service.
