The point I was trying to make was that UVA was giving themselves 3rd and short based on their short passing strategy. The announcers said at the beginning of the game that UVA had a high 3rd down conversion rate. It was very obvious what they were doing. This is not a knock on our defense...
I'm not blaming the D. They played very well given the situation they were placed in. It just goes to show you don't have to try to hit a homerun on every pass play. I'd take 3.8 yards per play. That's 3rd and < 3 every time.
So frustrating. I don't know if Richt outhinks himself or doesn't think at all just falling in love with his gameplan. It's like, "Maybe I should call a short pass, but ooh the deep ball is open. Let's go for the homerun."
Totally agree. Even the announcers said Miami should utilize the short passing game. I think they said that in the 2nd qtr. This is Ritch's failure to adjust. I can't understand him. He so f'ing set in his ways!!! It's like he runs the same **** plays trying to prove himself right for...
Richt waited until half the 4th qtr was over to start throwing short passes. I mean he's got to stop calling plays. So non creative and unresponsive to the situation. This game was lost in the 1st half and 3rd qtr with the lack of play calling adjustments.
The blocking was terrible. So...
See how Rosier hesitates and hitches before he throws. That's how his arm got hit. Said it earlier. He doesn't throw with anticipation. Throws when he sees the receiver is open rather than throwing him open.
Damnit Richt!! All these **** deep routes. F'ing coach is hard headed like a mutha.!!! Like my dad told me when I was a kid, " A hard head makes a soft ***!!!"
