The word on the street is that Hurricanes quarterback Carson Beck is a prospect to watch to go early in the NFL Draft.
This morning on The Rich Eisen Show, NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero said he believes Carson Beck could go earlier than most people expect.
“Carson Beck comes across, as one scout put it to me, as ‘A Beautiful Mind’ in terms of his football IQ. He knows exactly what’s going on the football field… I would not 100 percent rule out the idea of Carson Beck somehow finding his way into the bottom of Round 1.”
Beck is currently projected as a Day 2 pick, likely in Round 3, but could he go earlier?
Teams in the NFL can invite up to 30 prospects to their facilities ahead of the draft, and Beck has reportedly met with the Arizona Cardinals, Miami Dolphins, and Pittsburgh Steelers, according to Mike Garafolo.
This past season for the Hurricanes, Beck led Miami back to the national championship for the first time since 2002. He passed for 3,813 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions across 16 games in the 2025–26 season. He also posted a 72.4% completion rate and a QBR of 81.8, which ranked 10th in the country among quarterbacks.
