Tyler Baron selected 176th pick to the New York Jets

Former Miami Hurricanes player Tyler Baron was selected as the No. 176 pick in the sixth round by the New York Jets.

Baron was a key defensive player during his only receiving All-ACC Honorable Mention honors. season with the Hurricanes.

He tied for the team lead in tackles for loss with 11.0 and in sacks with 5.5. Additionally, he ranked fourth on the Hurricanes with a total of 38 tackles, which included 18 solo stops. He was credited with six quarterback hurries and one forced fumble. He participated in all 13 games and made nine starts.

Before joining Miami, he had an impressive four-year career at Tennessee from 2020 to 2023. During his time with the Volunteers, he recorded a total of 101 tackles, 27 tackles, and 13.5 sacks. He enjoyed a dominant 2023 season, starting in 12 games and finishing with 10.5 tackles for loss and six sacks.
