The Canes are 4-3 after losing their first conference game against UNC last week. It doesn't get any easier for Miami as they prepare for their annual matchup with FSU. I'll put it like this, Miami gave up 486 yards of offense last week and it IMPROVED the defense's season average.

1. Where they are in the standings/rankings:

ConferenceOverall

12th ranked Florida St. is coming off a 51-7 thrashing of Boston College. Here's what B.C. fans thought about the game:

From B.C. Interruption:

Brian Favat said:
In a non-competitive college football game, a listless and uninspired Boston College Eagles team was dominated by the Florida State Seminoles, falling 51-7 at Doak Campbell Stadium. The once proud BC defense was gutted for 540 yards, 409 on the ground ... through three quarters. Final tally: 649 total yards, including 448 yards on the ground.

We were in a dogfight with this ****** team for the majority of the game. They've only got one win and lost to Army last week. **** us.

2. What happened the last time Miami played Florida St.?

From the Associated Press:
The Hurricanes led just once in the game at 7-3 on Jacory Harris' 2-yard throw to tight end Clive Walford in the second quarter before Florida State scored 20 unanswered points to build its lead to 23-7 early in the fourth quarter on Hopkins' third field goal. Miami's lead came on Harris' 2-yard TD pass to Clive Walford, but Florida State quickly regained the lead at 10-7 when Rodney Smith beat two Miami defenders in the end zone to grab a 21-yard throw from Manuel with 4:42 left in the half.

This was the 1st time since probation that I stopped watching a Miami game before it was over. I came back to it just in time to see Laron Byrd get legitimately raped by Nigel Bradham. Absurd that a penalty was called on this play.

The bolded portion was when we were introduced to Kacy Rodgers at safety...

...yea.

3. Who to be scared of:

4.jpg

Chris Thompson

He got banged up recently and was used sparingly against Boston College, but he should be ready for Miami by gametime. We're giving up over 200 yards a game on the ground, and this guy will get his and more. He's recorded 640 yards on 84 carries (7.6 average) with 5 touchdowns. Expect him to have the same kind of impact Bernard did last Saturday for UNC against us.

4. Player that will score against us:

5.jpg

Kelvin Benjamin

Sick athlete. He's one of many receivers for FSU has that will make unlimited catches against our secondary. The Glades Central product has 327 yards on 19 receptions (17.2 average) and 3 touchdowns.

5. Person that will **** you off:

82.jpg

James Wilder Jr.

Just look at this joke. This female-shouldered fruit pop is trying to rock the half-jersey look. The only thing that could possibly make you hate him more is the fact that he will probably be dragging Shayon Green and Gionni Paul all over the field while looking like that. Seriously, **** this guy.

6. Official Internet meme for this game:

**** Me, Right?

Just ******* win.

Oh, and I didn't even mention FSU's defense. Prepare thy ****.

If Morris isnt ready, and we all know he wont be, just play as many players as we can and come out on the other side of this **** sandwich healthy.

Because I still say, we will win out after FSU. {Of course, my belief is based in that Morris is healthy going into Va Tech forward....}

and that would give us 8 wins, and with this team, you take 8 wins every day of the **** week. Just hold your breath and dont take the FSU game too seriously.

We could lose 100-0. We still come out of the game controlling our destiny in the coastal.

Let Williams start and be Cannon Fodder. Let Morris Heal because we have 10 days break before VT.

Last I saw, Wilder was no longer wearing the half jersey. After the Clemson game, I emailed the ACC to express my displeasure at number 32 on the Seminoles' singling himself out and violating 2 rules at the same time (jersey has to be full length, and back protector must be covered by jersey). I think they may have done something about it because he was not wearing the half jersey for the next game.

Elam might need similar - I thought I saw him doing the same thing recently.

**** the Noles and the Gatah - they're not special.

Not that it matters, but FSU put up 448 yards in the air against BC, 201 on the ground.

Not sure where that BC guy got his info.

oh lord, you can really see this one getting out of hand quickly. Any chance of a torrential downpour throughout the game that could possibly prevent them from putting half a hundred up on us?

I'm slightly over 100% sure we don't win this game, and I'm equally as sure that our defense is a **** sandwich against the run, but I'm not impressed with FSUs offense. Thompson is a damned good back, but EJ is not the guy and he's the reason they couldn't runt he table this year. I think we get beat up this game, but I wouldn't be surprised if the score doesn't do the noles justice by the end of this one.

Hey, even wit WIlliams in, if we catch the ball we might still hang a few points here and there as well. Baby steps...

Really? You e-mailed the ACC? Don't know which is more childish and amusing; Wilder and his jersey or you going that far. They're college kids and really, who care? If I recall correctly Miami used to do this as well.

It wasn't against the rules then. It is now against the rules.
