Miami Northwestern High School football head coach Teddy Bridgewater has been suspended by the high school for allegedly giving impermissible benefits to his players.

Reports state that Bridgewater assisted with Uber rides and paid out of pocket for physical therapy for some kids after asking for help from the community.

Bridgewater confirmed in a Facebook post that he has been suspended by the high school after admitting to paying for players' Uber rides

Here is what he had to say on the post:

"The suspension came from MNW, and it’s impossible to suspend someone who doesn’t work for you. So if [I'm] suspended from MNW [I'm] free to go to another school of my choice, but [I'm] NOT GOING ANYWHERE," said Bridgewater. "And if it comes down to it, I will volunteer from the bleachers like I used to in 2018 and 2019 when no one had a problem."

Bridgewater is the head coach of five-star wide receiver Calvin Russell, who was the focus of Canes fans earlier this month. Russell chose Syracuse over a handful of blue blood schools, including Miami, as his college destination.

Heard about that on D$'s conversation with Streeter over the weekend. This stuff is so ridiculous. TB just trying to get his kids the care and development they need. How is making sure they recover from injury a "benefit" or putting kids in Uber's to get them to practice on time a "benefit"? My HS track coach actually lent me his car to go to a camp. He'd probably be in jail right now.

going to Louisville makes you dumb...

Yes, it was dumb to post it on social media and ask for community support. But the actual support he is looking to provide the kids with is altruistic, it's not like these kids are getting bags. This is a guy wearing his heart on his sleeve for his kids, school and community. He went about it wrong. Send him through compliance training, don't suspend him.

Did he just admit to more violations with his "volunteering" from the bleachers comment? Here in Houston you have to be employed by the school district in order to coach a sport.

After he did the throat slash against UM in Orlando he was dead to me. I’m indifferent to what happens to him.

Other schools can’t pay to have players travel from long distance to play for them. TB can suck it. He is a traitor and actively pushes kids away from us to great venues like New York……

Have him call Charlie Strong for help.
Wish we would had kept him on staff dc . If we had him we would have won the acc last year imo . I don’t like him but he can recruit . I thought that was stupid of Mario to get rid of him . With Charlie on staff we could get what we wanted from MNW imo
