With the hiring of safeties coach Will Harris from Florida earlier this offseason, he brought with him one of the top 2026 secondary prospects in the class with Jaelen “Seatbelt” Waters. And with his commitment looking like it’s shut down, all eyes have turned to another Harris secondary faithful in S Devin Jackson when he decommitted from Florida back in April. @DMoney and I were able to catch up with him following his official visit this weekend, and I believe he will follow Waters’ path to land in Miami. Here’s what he had to say:

Overall takeaway from the visit:

“Everything felt great, from the coach style to the players, everything felt great and then the culture was great. And then just being in Miami is great.”

“I just got to see the character of the coaches and then the players, like all that matters coming into a program. I feel like all that checks the green mark for me to see if I want to come here and I feel like it's a possibility that I will come here.”

“I feel way better about Miami. I feel like it's a great school with a great culture and it's something that I want to be a part of.”

On his recruiting process:

“I'm just taking my time with it, knowing that I was committed to Florida for about nine months and just taking my time with it and not rushing nothing.”

“I got a midweek [OV] with Penn State and that's in between Oregon and Nebraska.”

“I was thinking of [committing] August, but if I know what school I really want to go to, I'll be in July.”

On hanging out with Miami commits and Jaelen Waters’ recruiting pitch:

“I hung out with Jaelen Waters, DC [Dereon Coleman] and Jontavious Wyman.”

“Me and Waters knew each other since we was at Florida together and then just following Coach Harris's movement to Miami, knowing that he's a great coach and fundamentals would be taught. That was the pitch for [Waters].”

On the recruiting pitch from Safeties coach Will Harris:

“Just the relationship we built over time even when he was at Florida, and then now, it's still the same love, the same priorities. He says major priority to him, and same for Cristobal. That was a very big pitch of his.”
