Miami has only one game left in the 2025-26 season, and everything is at stake. If the Canes win, they will win their sixth national championship in school history and end their season on a positive note. No matter what happens, the coaches are already excelling in recruiting from the transfer portal.

According to On3's Stephen Wagner, he has made a RPM prediction for a kicker from Florida State, Jake Weinberg, to join Miami.

This RPM prediction was made yesterday afternoon, with Wagner expressing a 60% confidence that Miami will acquire the kicker from Florida State.

From Weinberg’s FSU bio:

2025 (Redshirt Freshman): He was the starting kicker in all 12 games, successfully making 12 out of 19 field goals and converting all 46 extra point attempts... he extended Florida State’s streak of successful PATs to 162, going back to 2022... he had 61 kickoffs for 3,844 yards, averaging 63.0 yards per kickoff with 56 touchbacks... against Alabama, he made a 45-yard field goal and four PATs in a 31-17 win... against East Texas A&M, he achieved a career-high with 10 PATs in a 77-3 victory... FSU tied the school record with 11 PATs in a single game... against Kent State, he made a 25-yard field goal and all eight PATs... he scored a career-high of 11 points... against Virginia, he made a 36-yard field goal and five PATs... against Miami, he was 2-for-2 on field goals from 23 and 35 yards... against Pitt, he made a 34-yard field goal and four PATs... against Stanford, he achieved a career-high with two field goals - from 33 and 39 yards - along with one PAT... against Wake Forest, he was 6-for-6 on PATs in a 42-7 win... against Clemson, he made a career-long 46-yard field goal and one PAT... against Virginia Tech, he made field goals of 26 and 34 yards and four PATs... against NC State, he hit a career-long 46-yard field goal... against Florida, he made three PATs. 2024

(Freshman): He made his Florida State debut against Charleston Southern… scored four points against the Buccaneers with a 23-yard field goal and one extra point… had two kickoffs - both for touchbacks - against CSU… connected on a 23-yard field goal in the fourth quarter against the Buccaneers and made his extra point attempt... he redshirted the 2024 season.

BEFORE FSU: He was ranked No. 2 nationally by Kohl’s Kicking… rated as the No. 6 kicker in America by On3 and on 247Sports Composite… he earned three letters.

Miami will be in need of a new kicker next season as this years kicker [Carter Davis] will graduate. Miami currently holds the 36th best transfer portal class in the nation, according to On3 Team Transfer Portal Rankings. Miami currently has only four commitments from Omar Thornton, Vandrevius Jacobs, Cam Vaughn, and Marquez Carter.

Of all the kickers in America is this the best we can do?

I know Carter Davis wasn’t good prior to this season (statistically), but that is MUCH more of an outlier.

63% make is not good.

3/8 from 40+ is oooooof.

Hope he can be the next Carter Davis

Can he kick on the tribe holidays?
Good question. the only two ****** holy days that affect football season are Feast of Booths and Yom Kippur (the day of atonement) and the Jews keep Yom Kippur on the 1st day of the week (Sunday) not the ****** Sabbath (Saturday). And I don't think the Jews celebrate the Feast of Booths anymore. So he should be good to go.

True we don't celebrate the feast of booths

Get him hooked up with Coach Tony Bugeja and let's roll!

I dont believe Miami has ever played on Yom Kippur. Always a bye week or a Thursday night game.

I know a thing or two about a thing or two and one of those two things is religion.
Well the feast of booths is also Sukkot but it's more of a joyous harvest. Sukkot is celebrated...but it's not a high holy day like Rosh Hashanah(new years) September 11-13 and Yom Kippur (Day of atonement) September 20-21

We weirdly whiffed on option 1 (we had a better offer out there compared to the ultimate winner for his services) and then couldn’t get option 2 to hit the portal via grades.

So here we are.

Ya'll don't stay in booths either, right? Which would commemorate the Israelites living in booths in the wilderness years after the exodus from Egypt.

Grades??? In 2026, who still gets poor grades???

More religious than me, build a sukkah .. typically out of palm fronds...and eat meals there
