Four-star offensive lineman Sean Tatum made the trip down from Fort Pierce to Coral Gables this past weekend, Following his visit, Tatum received a crystal ball prediction for the Canes, showcasing Miami’s presence in his recruitment. I spoke to him for CanesInSight, recapping his visit and his overall recruitment process. Here’s what the Miami target had to say:

On his overall visit:

“I've been here in a while, I toured the campus, it was amazing. Like, beautiful. I'm not going to lie.”

“I learned a lot. There's a lot of new things that Coach Mirabal was talking about and I love it a lot.”

On what he saw from Miami’s practice:

“Aggression, just like last year — aggression, aggression, aggression.”

“There's a lot of new people in a lot of new places, you know, big senior class they had. Everyone still has a lot to work on, but that's the life of the game. So I think they're going to be very good next season.”

On the recruiting pitch from the UM staff:

“I completely agree with them. I was in the meeting room and we all talked about how in this recruiting world, you shouldn't think about playing as a freshman. You should think about it from development.”

“That's what makes me think that this is a great fit for me. I like coaches like that, not worrying about playing time, not worrying about the depth chart. Go out there and work.”

On where Miami stands in his recruitment process:

“They're very high up there. Right now, they're definitely one especially after this visit.”

On his recruitment timeline:

“My commitment date is July 18, of course that's a little far but that's when I’m going to commit.”

“The only reason I did it a month away from all my visits is because I want to get time to feel good about my decision.”

“[Unofficial wise] Florida is next week, after that I have FSU and Auburn the next two days.”

“[OV wise] Miami is first at the end of May, Florida is June 4th, then Tennessee June 12th and Auburn is June 19th.”

On coach Cristobal:

“O-line guy right there man. You see it in his meetings, in his offense, O-line guy.

“He means the players well, you know. He really cares about the players a lot, I like that about a head coach.”

On Miami having all Florida commitments at the time of writing (3/30):

“I mean, right now, people always say Miami's the best team right now in Florida.”

“A lot of Florida people love staying in Florida. I'm definitely maybe one of those.”

On relationships with Miami commits and targets:

“Me, Zay [Linton] and Mark [Matthews] talk sometimes, he was like, yeah, come by, come by.’”

“I talk to a lot of recruits all the time about my process and their process.”

On Miami’s track record of offensive line production:

“Three NFL draft picks this year alone? That's crazy to me and they all stayed, too. Both [Cooper] and Mauigoa stayed the whole time so that really shows they can develop me here.
