Miami Gardens, FL.-- We partied like it was 2001 yesterday!
The #1 Miami Hurricanes (7-0) hosted the Pittsburgh Panthers (5-3) in a matchup that would quickly turn into a one sided affair from the top team in the country. The 'Canes, honoring the 25th anniversary of their legendary 2001 National Championship team by donning throwback uniforms and a halftime ceremony, would cage the Panthers 52-23.
Sophomore WR Malachi Toney continues to break the status quo, hauling in 16 catches for 194 yards and 3 touchdowns. During the blowout, Toney eclipsed over 2,000 career receiving yards through just 23 games. Hurricanes' QB Darian Mensah continues to impress, tossing for 31 completions for 387 yards and 4 touchdowns. Freshman RB Javian Mallory pounded the rock for 7 carries, 47 yards from scrimmage and 2 scores
Like I said, it was a party in the 305. If you want to relive all the action, the CanesInsight crew has you covered with this photo gallery. Attached are pictures submitted by me and my partner in crime, Will Bodak.
