On Tuesday afternoon, Miami Hurricanes veteran linebacker Mohamed Toure spoke with the media. He spoke about the upcoming ACC clash against Stanford, the linebackers, and more. Check out everything he had to say down below:
On the linebacker group: Coming along together, coming together very well. Guys are putting pieces together. Coach Hetherman has done a great job, mixing and matching who's going with who getting vets with younger guys, guys that have experience together, and just mixing and matching and just letting us play. We have a lot of linebackers that can play at a high level, so, I'm just ready to see what these guys can do.
On finally getting the season started: Well, we more than ready. We just been preparing since that. Like you said, it's been seven and a half months. We're just prepared, like we've been preparing every single day, and we're gonna continue to prepare till Friday, continue to prepare for the moment and just be ready when the time comes.
On Micah Ford: Very elusive, that, hard runner, gets downhill. He's very tenacious. You feel me? He runs the ball with tenacity, like he runs hard. After you pile on him, he's still trying to chop. You feel me? Drive his feet. So, just being ready for that, being ready for him to do a lot of different things. He's elusive. He's fast. He's quick. He's played backs like that, but he's a great back, and I'm just ready to compete against him.
On going against the running backs: Yeah, for sure. We got the best running back group in the country. I'm being honest, like best in the country. Like, we got guys that can do it all, so just competing against them, it gives us a taste of every different type of back you can get. You got Girard Pringle, you got ChaMar Brown, you got the young guys, you know, that come in here and they do their thing. You got Mark, like you got different types of back, different styles of backs. So we really get to see it all on a daily basis, so I feel like we'll be prepared. They definitely helped us prepare this whole spring ball, fall camp, summertime, just picking their brains, seeing how to play things for us and how they read things. So it's definitely helped a lot.
On the offensive line: They've grown tremendously, Coach Cristobal, Coach Mirabal has done a great job, mixing and matching those pieces and just coming together. Those are young guys, they're learning, and I try to help them learn. I try to help them grow, the D-line tries to help them grow. This is a family here, so we all come together and help each other grow, and they've grown so much since this whole offseason. Like, from the beginning, when a lot of those guys first came in to now, I've seen strides and strides and strides, and those guys are gonna do amazing things this season.
