The University of Miami women’s basketball team welcomes four new players to its 2026-2027 roster, Jess-Mine Zodia, Dayana Mendes, Mya Herman, and Gianna Corbitt.

The Hurricanes’ additions will join five returners from the 2025-26 seasons and two incoming freshmen.

“We’re excited to welcome four outstanding student-athletes to our program, each bringing a unique skill set, high-level experience, and a competitive edge that will elevate our team,” said Head Coach Tricia Cullop.

Jess-Mine Zodia joins Miami Women’s Basketball from Moissy-Cramayel, France, bringing a strong international resume. The center currently competes for Tarbes Gespe Bigorre and has represented France in multiple FIBA events throughout her career.

Zodia was part of France’s gold medal-winning squad at the 2020 FIBA U20 Women’s EuroBasket, averaging 10.6 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. She also helped France finish fourth at the 2023 FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup and earn bronze at the 2022 FIBA U18 Women’s European Championship.

At the club level, Zodia had a breakout season in 2025 with Tarbes Gespe Bigorre, averaging 10.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while improving her production across several statistical categories.

“Jess-Mine brings valuable international experience and a strong interior presence to our roster,” Head Coach Tricia Cullop said. “She has competed at a high level with the French National Team and has continued to develop her game professionally. Her ability to rebound, score inside, and impact both ends of the floor will make her a strong addition to our frontcourt.”

Dayana Mendes arrives in Coral Gables after spending the past season at the University of Southern California. The Paris, France native appeared in all 32 games for the Trojans during the 2025–26 season as they made a run to the Elite Eight in the 2026 NCAA Tournament.

Mendes began her collegiate career at Washington State. During her freshman campaign with the Cougars, Mendes averaged 8.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game while recording four double-doubles and earning West Coast Conference Freshman of the Week honors twice.

A 6-foot-3 forward, Mendes also brings championship experience from overseas. She captured a France LF2 league title and was part of the 2018 Île-de-France championship team.

“Dayana Mendes is a 6-foot-3 wing who brings great size, athleticism, and versatility to our roster,” Cullop said. “She runs the floor exceptionally well and can stretch defenses with her three-point shooting, while also being able to put it on the deck or score with her back to the basket. Defensively, she’s active and disruptive, using her length to deflect passes, block shots, and rebound. Her experience at both Washington State and USC has prepared her well for the demands of the ACC.”

Mya Herman is next, joining the Miami Women’s Basketball after a standout season at Southeastern University, where she emerged as one of the top scorers and most efficient guards in the NAIA. Herman earned First-Team All-Sun Conference honors in consecutive seasons and played a key role in helping the Fire capture both the Sun Conference Regular Season and Tournament championships during her junior campaign.

In 2025-26, Herman started all 32 games and led Southeastern with 569 points, 230 made field goals, and 83 made three-pointers while shooting 52.9 percent from the field and 44.9 percent from beyond the arc. She scored in double figures in every game, reached the 20-point mark 13 times, and added career highs in rebounds, assists, and steals. Herman also delivered a career-best 34-point performance in the NAIA First Round to lead the Fire to an overtime postseason victory.

“Mya Herman comes to us after a highly productive season at Southeastern University, where she scored 569 points and knocked down 83 three-pointers while shooting 45 percent from beyond the arc,” Head Coach Tricia Cullop said. “She’s a smart, efficient player who takes great care of the basketball, averaging less than one turnover per game while logging heavy minutes.”

Finally, Gianna Corbitt arrives at Miami as a junior following two highly decorated seasons at Chattanooga, where she established herself as one of the Southern Conference’s top all-around players. The Oakland Park, Florida native earned First Team All-SoCon, First Team All-SoCon Tournament, and Preseason All-SoCon honors during her sophomore campaign after starting all 31 games for the Mocs.

In her sophomore season, Corbitt averaged 15.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.2 steals, and 1.2 assists per game while ranking second in the conference in both scoring and rebounding. She also led the SoCon in steals per game and paced the league with a 42.8 percent mark from three-point range, the seventh-best single-season percentage in Chattanooga history. Corbitt also helped Chattanooga claim a share of the conference regular-season championship.

“Gianna Corbitt, a Florida native, made a tremendous impact in her two seasons at UT Chattanooga,” Cullop said. “She’s an incredibly efficient scorer, shooting an average of 50 percent from the field, 37.5 percent from three, and 80 percent from the free throw line. At 6-foot-1, Gianna is a versatile guard who can score at all three levels. What stands out even more is her competitiveness, her motor, and her ability to impact the game on the glass.”
