The University of Miami will honor longtime women’s basketball coach Katie Meier on Thursday, Jan. 29 inside the Watsco Center. The ceremony will take place ahead of Miami’s 8 p.m. tipoff against Duke.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early for a pre-game ceremony that includes the unveiling of a banner recognizing Meier’s legendary accomplishments as the winningest coach in Miami basketball history.
The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a commemorative mini banner and Coach Meier’s honorary evening will feature in-game programming with special messages from former players, and trivia.
During her 19 seasons leading the Canes, Meier totaled 362 wins and coached Miami to 13 postseason appearances, including 10 straight from 2009-2019, and the program’s first Elite Eight appearance in 2023.
