Boys and girls, the Miami Hurricanes men's basketball squad might’ve done enough to punch their ticket to March Madness after beating the Florida State Seminoles 83-73 on Tuesday night.
That win was huge for the Hurricanes. Even with Florida State riding a three-game winning streak, they climbed in the NET rankings, and the game ended up counting as a Quad 1 win for Miami.
That’s now Miami’s fourth Quad 1 win of the season, giving the Hurricanes a strong résumé push toward the NCAA tournament.
Of course, Miami still has work to do down the stretch.
With the win over Florida State, the Hurricanes can start feeling very good about their tournament chances, some might even call Miami a lock for the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
The Hurricanes still have two more Quad 1 opportunities coming against SMU Mustangs and the Louisville Cardinals. Picking up wins there would only help Miami’s tournament positioning.
As of today, bracket projections from Joe Lunardi have the Hurricanes as a No. 8 seed. If Miami wants a deeper tournament run, climbing to around a No. 7 seed or better would be ideal heading into postseason play.
