Ahead of a busy Spring, one talented athlete from the state of Florida is narrowing his list of potential schools, and Miami remains under consideration.

Josh Johnson is down to six finalists: Miami, Florida, Nebraska, Georgia Tech, Iowa, and Wisconsin. He officially took a visit to Miami in January, posting a caption, "Great time at Miami today!!!!"

Recruited by Mario Cristobal and Frank Tucker, the Hurricanes appear to have done an excellent job of laying the framework to potentially land the three-star talent.

A 6-foot-5 defensive lineman from Key West, FL, Johnson is considered a three-star talent by all four major recruiting sites. He's a top 80 player at his position and the No. 735 overall prospect in the 2027 class, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. He would be a great addition to add in the defensive lineman room for the Hurricanes.

Intriguing - played both sides and throws Shot put.

At the moment not one for the star wh*res but we seem to ID these guys early and they are solid 4 stars by the end of senior year.

He told Witfong that his grandpa and uncle (maternal) both played football for Iowa. Mom was a volleyball player at Iowa.

His Dad went to Wisconsin.

He also said he had an uncle who went to Miami.

Hopefully the Miami uncle was the "cool" uncle. Not the other
