Peter Ariz sat down with 2026 Miami Hurricanes offensive lineman commit Rhys Woodrow. Check out the video down below:

Here are some quotes I pulled from the interview, in case you don't want to watch the full video:

Q: Over the last couple of months, of being a Hurricane

"It's been a lot less stressful than it has been before then. Being done with all the recruiting, I’ve just been working on a lot with my school's team, and Boone is going to put together a pretty good team this year."

Q: What was the process of his recruitment like?

"The process was fun for a little bit, and then it got old. It was tiring; it was stressful. And then there was this one night — Coach Mirabal called me and my family, we talked for a little bit, and after the call, I talked to my parents for maybe two minutes, and then I decided I was ready to commit."

Q: What separated Miami from the rest?

"I love the coaches at FSU, and all of the other schools that I was recruited by, but nobody was as persistent in recruiting me more than Miami. Like, they were texting me every day, multiple times a day. They kept my parents informed on everything, and they made us feel like the most liked family."

Q: About his athletic background

"I was always like the big kid, and I played baseball my whole life. I was always playing first base; I hit bombs in Little League. And then, as the pitchers started throwing a little faster, it was a little more difficult to do that. In 8th grade, I played tackle football for the first time, and I just fell in love with it — never really looked back."

Q: How going from tackle to center position effects his role

"I played two games at center so far, and my opinion is that I'm actually better at center than I am at tackle, just ’cause I can overpower people up the middle. I can pull and hit people. I always liked playing guard the most. That's where I’ll be playing this next year."
