Part of Miami’s growing “Wall of Mirabal”, 2026 OL commit Rhys Woodrow returned to campus this weekend on his official visit. The three-star Orlando product committed a few weeks ago in late May, with the staff loving his spring performances. This weekend he broke down his commitment and recapped his official visit with me for CanesInSight. Here’s what Woodrow had to say:

On what was the highlight of his visit:

“Just sitting down with my family and the coaches, just feeling like a family to them and that I matter, and then I'm a priority to the coaches here, and I'm excited for the future.

“I mean, it feels like family. I couldn't be more happy with my decision that I made.”

On being hosted by fellow central Florida product Max Buchannan:

“I've known him for a little bit, so he was really just telling me to outwork everybody and never stop wanting more, just be the best you can.”

“So I met him when I came to the FSU game last year. We talked and hung out there and we have mutual friends, too, in Orlando. I got to get close to a lot of the coaches there, SJ [Alofaituli], him too, I became close with at that game.”

On what’s keeping him locked in with Miami:

“Just how much they interact with my family and make us feel like that we're a part of their family with them, and how much of a priority they make us feel like.”

“I mean [Coach Cristobal and Mirabal] would text me and my parents everyday, probably twice a day, like for however long I've been getting recruited by them. No other school even came close to doing that, so there's nothing like it.”

On locking down his recruitment:

“I called all the coaches once I committed, I called him and let them know, 'Hey, I'm going to be going [to Miami] and they all wished for the best.”

“This is the only OV I'm gonna take, and I'm just gonna be riding it out.”
