University of Miami men’s basketball coach Jai Lucas announced the signing of Treyvon Maddox on Tuesday.

A 6-foot-6 forward hailing from Orlando, Florida, Maddox ranks as consensus four-star prospect by On3, 247Sports and ESPN.

“Treyvon is a skilled wing that has a high ceiling,” Lucas said. “He’s versatile and athletic and will be able to help us immediately on both sides of the court. I am excited to have him join our team.”

Last season at Oak Ridge High School, Maddox helped the Pioneers to a 17-10 record and averaged 10.1 points and 3.8 rebounds.

Maddox had his best game of the season against Bishop McNamara on Dec. 19 as he scored 23 points on 10-of-12 shooting. During his senior season, Maddox scored in double figures 12 times and shot 56 percent from the floor and 44 percent from the 3-point line.

Good shooting percentages but he must not shoot much to only average 10 ppg on a team that obviously wasn't great (17-10). If he was in double figures a dozen times, he musta pretty much disappeared in the other 15 games.
