Miami isn’t just focused on the 2026 and 2027 recruiting classes, the Hurricanes are already looking far ahead, extending an offer to rising 2029 prospect Cayden Gaskins. The talented power forward is expected to be a five-star recruit by the end of his cycle.
If you follow South Florida high school sports, the Gaskins name should sound familiar. Cayden is the younger brother of Caleb Gaskins, a major Hurricanes target and one of the top basketball recruits in the country.
Miami has positioned itself well in the recruitment of Caleb, and if things go as planned, Cayden could eventually join his brother in Coral Gables if they both end up choosing Miami.
The Hurricanes coaching staff watched Cayden in action at Peach Jam this past weekend, where he impressed with 20 points, five rebounds, and a block for his Nightrydas 15U squad.
Cayden also announced that he will be transferring to Christopher Columbus High School for his freshman season, the same school as his brother, Caleb, where the duo will suit up together this year.
Miami isn’t alone in pursuing Cayden. In-state rival Florida State also offered him over the weekend. He currently holds additional offers from Cincinnati and Sam Houston State.
