Miami added another name to its growing recruiting board over the weekend, extending an offer to 2028 edge rusher Mikel Morgan following his performance at Legends Camp.
Morgan was one of several young prospects in attendance, and he made the most of the opportunity. After working in front of head coach Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes staff, Morgan left Coral Gables with a scholarship offer in hand.
The 2028 defender has continued to pick up attention for his ability to get after the quarterback and make plays in the backfield. His showing at camp was enough to convince Miami’s coaches to pull the trigger on an offer and get involved early in his recruitment.
For Morgan, the offer is another big step as his recruiting stock continues to rise, and the Hurricanes clearly see plenty of upside in the young pass rusher. He currently has offers from schools like Arizona, Florida State, Mississippi State, and Syracuse just to name a few.
While there’s still a long way to go in his recruitment, Miami is now officially in the mix. With the Hurricanes getting in early, they’ll have a chance to build a strong relationship with one of upcoming defensive prospects in the 2028 class.
