Mataio Fano (2028), a four-star offensive tackle out of Orem High School in Orem, UT, reported an offer from Miami football on Wednesday.
The 6-foot-4, 240-pounder’s offer list is already loaded with top programs, including BYU, California, Michigan, and Utah, meaning the Hurricanes will likely have to make up ground to land the talented prospect. As he continues to develop, Fano will likely aim to add weight to compete in the ACC.
The offensive tackle is rated as a four-star prospect and currently ranks as the No. 59 overall player in the 2028 class, the No. 2 prospect in the state of Utah and the No. 7 offensive tackle nationally.
Mataio is the younger brother of standout Spencer Fano, a former Mario Cristobal recruit, who is expected to be an early NFL Draft pick.
