Miami Moves Up To No. 9 Seed In On3's Bracketology

Miami is moving up, and the Hurricanes fans are buzzing.

The Canes jumped up to No. 9 in this week’s On3 Bracketology, and honestly, they couldn’t ask for much more. Not even two weeks ago, Miami was sitting on the bubble. Now? After big-time wins over North Carolina and a road win at NC State, the Hurricanes are suddenly in a very different spot. Two resume wins in a row will do that.

On3 has Miami in the South region, and the matchup they drew is one that’s going to make people take notice.

As the 9-seed, Miami would face the 8-seeded Indiana Hoosiers, a team we’ve crossed paths with before, and one that gives the Hurricanes a shot at making a statement early.

If Miami gets past Indiana, the Round of 32 sets up against either (1) Houston or (16) UT Martin, though let’s be real, it’s probably Houston.

The rest of the South region is stacked:

Iowa State at No. 2, Florida at No. 3, Michigan State at No. 4, and Virginia at No. 5—teams the Canes will have to look out for if they want to keep climbing.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter who Miami plays, as long as they’re in and not worrying about bubble stress. The Canes are trending up, and that’s what matters most.

Check out the full South region from On3—this is going to be fun.
