The Miami Hurricanes coaching staff is on the move again, reaching out to Robert Morris guard transfer DJ Smith through the portal.

On Sunday afternoon, Tobias Bass from Twitter shared that four schools, including the Miami Hurricanes, have shown interest in Robert Morris transfer guard DJ Smith since he entered the transfer portal.

Smith recently committed to Mercer but decommitted a couple of days ago, reopening his recruitment. His initial contact list includes Miami, Seton Hall, Southeastern Louisiana, and Campbell.

This past season, Smith scored an average of 9.1 points, grabbed 2.3 rebounds, and made 3.2 assists per game, while hitting 39.2% of his 3-point shot attempts and sinking 79.2% of his free throws.

Smith is listed as a 6-foot, 160-pound guard who will have one more year of eligibility.

Seems to have found his 3 point stroke last season after three seasons where it was missing.

Like who exactly? He’d probably be our 4th guard in the rotation
Not sure, I haven't looked at all of the PG options in the portal. But id take the LSU kid over him.

I dont like this dudes size or turnover ratio.

His only positive seems to be 3pt shooting. Which I guess is a dire need.

Just hope we can find better for the backup PG.

What three PGs do you have in front of him? New Mexico kid and Dante aren't even true point guards. Pretty sure this is the backup PG position.

Need Donaldson healthy or .... But if so, Dante can handle the point for 5-7 mpg

LSU kid committed to Memphis. Smith averaged nearly 10 ppg for a team that won their league and gave Alabama a pretty good scare in the 1st round of the tourney - and played well in that game.

As a rotational guard, he's a take all day.
