If there is one takeaway from this year’s NFL Draft, it’s that Mario Cristobal has been a game changer when it comes to putting players into the NFL Draft.

The 2026 NFL Draft came to an end this afternoon, with the Miami Hurricanes hearing their name getting called quite often during the three day spam of the Draft, finishing as one of the top college programs in the country with nine total draft selections.

Before Cristobal arrived at Miami, the Hurricanes only had one pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, with that being defensive lineman Johnathan Ford.

Miami had nine total draft picks this year. Looking back before Mario Cristobal arrived, when Manny Diaz was head coach, it took from the 2020 through the 2022 NFL Drafts three years for Miami to reach a total of nine players selected.

In other words, it took three years to hit that number before Cristobal, while Cristobal did it in just one draft.

This was the most Miami Hurricane players drafted at nine total players since the 2017 NFL Draft. Miami also finished with the most total draft picks in the state of Florida.

Cristobal is a game changer and has completely changed the culture of Miami football. You can’t thank him enough.

How many years cumulative to get three first rounders? Cam last year then Philips and Rousseau, correct? They were 2021 so that would be 5.

We are on track to get 2 in Mensah and Wilson next year but I expect someone else to emerge from Moten, Scott, Blount, Pancake, Lightfoot and our DBs
