Miami football makes cut for 2027 4-star linebacker

Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes coaching staff, received some positive news on Friday afternoon, as a four-star linebacker out Chicago (Ill.) Mount Carmel trimmed his list.

Linebacker, Roman Igwebuike, trimmed his list of top remaining schools that he'll choice from to just twelve schools with the Hurricanes included. Along with Miami; Tennessee, USC, Clemson, Indiana, Missouri, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, and the Florida Gators all made his list.

Along with the teams that made the cut for the highly rated four-star linebacker. He also holds offer from schools such as Auburn, Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, Boston College, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Illinois Indiana, Kentucky, Iowa State, plus many other schools. He holds a total of 41 college offers.



The 6-foot-3, 225-pound linebacker is highly ranked upon the 247Sports rankings. He is currently ranked as the No. 95 best player in the 2027 class, along with being the No. 6 linebacker, and the No. 5 player out of the state of Illinois.

This past season, Igwebuike stuffed the stat sheet. 115 total tackles, 13.5 for loss, seven sacks, two picks, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, three pass breakups and 17 QB pressures.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, he is currently projected to land at Ohio State with a 18 percent chance to land him. Miami isn't to far behind the Buckeyes with a 15 percent chance to land the four-star linebacker.

Can Miami land the highly talented linebacker? We will have to wait and see as he starts to take visits.
