The University of Miami football program announced an “Orange Out” for the team’s 2025 season opener against Notre Dame at Hard Rock Stadium.

The Canes host the Fighting Irish to open the season on Sunday, August 31. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. before a nationally televised audience on ABC.

For the “Orange Out,” presented by Modelo, fans are encouraged to wear orange to the stadium to create a memorable gameday experience.

Miami is ranked 10th in the Associated Press preseason poll, while Notre Dame is ranked sixth. The last time the Canes hosted Notre Dame at Hard Rock Stadium was in 2017, when No. 6 Miami defeated the third-ranked Irish 41-8 before a crowd of 65,303.

Fans should be asked to wear Orange for every game. It’s our primary color and green disappears in the teal seats. Orange pops more at home and on the road.

You would think an announcement like this was done months ago and for every game. The “surprise” factor hurts the game day environment because the casual fans aren’t aware.

We need everyone on August 31st to come out and support THE MIAMI HURRICANES, COACH MARIO CRISTOBAL, COACHING STAFF AND PLAYERS!!
What if we don't have tickets?

For those expecting this to be a “Clunker” game, they got an email to wear thus:

Should hand out a crate of oranges to every canes fan that comes through turnstile

I prefer our green but understandably, with green being one of the Domers primary colors, we surely don’t want to wear green with them in town.

Being loud is 100x more important than it looking nice cause everyone is wearing matching colors. I mean its a cool environment like when PSU does it's white out game. But what makes the white out game a great environment is the noise more than the color scheme.
