Miami has extended an offer to the No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2028 recruiting class, Maui Tontata.
On Monday afternoon, the Miami Hurricanes coaching staff decided to get involved in the recruiting game with Maui. He is out of Orem, Utah, where he plays his high school football at Orem High School. He is currently listed as 6-foot-5, 305-pounds.
His offer sheet is loaded. Maui holds offers from Miami, Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, BYU, California, Colorado, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas A&M, among others.
Maui has a big body frame on the offensive line. According to On3, his measurements are outstanding with 34”+ arms and 11”+ hands, which helps him move and makes it hard for defenders to get past him. He was invited to the Navy All-American Bowl Combine where he was named a standout prospect.
Maui is ranked as a top-20 prospect in the 2028 class, coming in at No. 16 nationally, the No. 1 offensive tackle, and the No. 1 player in Utah.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Nebraska is the favorite, holding a 32.9% prediction to land Tontata. He recently just visited the Cornhuskers last month.
