Miami is turning up the heat on one of the nation’s top defensive backs.
Not only did the No. 2 cornerback prospect in the 2027 class receive an in-home visit from Hurricanes cornerbacks coach last week, but now Miami defensive coordinator Corey Hetherman has made the trip as well.
Five-star corner Josh Dobson shared the moment on social media, posting the picture of them two together throwing up "The U" with the caption:
“#GoCanes”
Dobson is one of the elite prospects in the country regardless of position. According to 247Sports, he’s the No. 3 player nationally in the 2027 class, the No. 2 cornerback, and the top player in North Carolina.
The Hough (NC) standout holds offers from just about everyone. Miami is battling it out with programs like Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Texas A&M, Ohio State, and more.
Dobson has stayed busy on the recruiting trail this month. He visited Auburn on Jan. 10 and spent last weekend in College Station checking out Texas A&M. Next up, he’s scheduled to visit LSU this weekend as his recruitment continues to heat up.
Listed at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, Dobson plays his high school ball at William Amos Hough High School after transferring last season. Prior to that, he suited up at Catawba Ridge, where he helped lead the team to a 6–6 record and a South Carolina playoff appearance.
With Miami’s staff making multiple in-home visits and staying heavily involved, the Hurricanes are clearly making Dobson a major priority early in the 2027 cycle.
