Jai Lucas is hunting for a guard in the transfer portal following Tre Donaldson's declaration for the NBA draft and the departure of Tru Washington. It's a high-major option.
Villanova transfer Bryce Lindsey, who averaged 12.3 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 28.6 minutes per contest last season with the Wildcats, has heard from the Hurricanes.
The 6-3, 194-pound guard out of Baltimore, MD initially entered the portal on April 5, but Miami coaches have reached out in recent days as the program looks for a backcourt depth piece with Tre Donaldson, Tru Washington, and Noam Dovrat all leaving the program.
Among the other schools to reach out? Louisville, Kentucky, St. Johns, North Carolina, Kansas State, Texas Tech, Alabama, Providence, Ohio State, Vanderbilt, Texas, UCLA, Oklahoma State, Georgia, USC, Utah, and Baylor, as reported by Sam Kayser of League Ready.
Lindsey played in 33 games with 31 starts for the Wildcats, scoring in double figures on twenty-one occasions as a sophomore. His best high major performance came against BYU (22 points, five rebounds, two assists), Pittsburgh (24 points, one rebound, 3 assists), and Utah State (25 points, three rebounds, three assists, one steal).
Could he be an addition to the Miami Hurricanes roster? Time will only tell.
