Five-star class of 2028 edge rusher Darieon Prescott has trimmed his list of schools to eight, including the Miami Hurricanes.

The 6-foot-6, 220-pound edge rusher’s finalists include Miami, Oregon, Notre Dame, Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M, Ohio State, and Georgia.

According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, he is currently viewed as a five-star prospect. He ranks as the No. 18 player, No. 5 edge rusher, and No. 1 player out of Illinois.

He has only taken one official visit to one of his eight finalists, a trip to Notre Dame. He hasn’t scheduled a visit to Miami just yet.

Miami currently only holds two commitments inside the 2028 class, If the Hurricanes are able to land Darieon, he would become the first edge rusher pledge in the class.

Check out his film down below:

Hold up! He is very talented! Lightfoot and Scott are from Chicago too, just like me!
Never said he wasn’t talented. I’m from Chicago too and I’m just saying the competition Bolingbrook faces absolutely blows. Remember Lorenzo Lingard who looked like the next Barry Sanders but played against bum****s and ended up being a total bust here.

No clue what the kids measurables are but he's either got some pockets behind him or some well connected handlers. Cuz if I was just going off his film I'd say the kid might be a three-star
Might be the way the film is cut up, whoever did it did him a disservice.. That second play already had me ready to check out which is why they usually explain to these guys how to cut the film up

I watched five plays and said I want no part of this kid and moved on. Effort IN THOSE PLAYS was seriously lacking. Zero get off and Zero physicality. Honestly disservice or not(which I definitely agree with if he has anything that shows what would make him a 5 star) a kid that in high school period let alone a state that he should stand out if he's that dude should NEVER take plays off like that to where film gets out showing that. At the very least his motor and his physicality leaves a lot to be desired.
