Ahead of the 2026-27 High School Football season, MaxPreps has been releasing its top-10 players at each position. The website already named Hurricanes' commits Israel Abrams and Ty Keys as top-10 players in their position groups. Now, the website has released their top-10 wide receivers, ranking Nick Lennear as the No. 3 receiver.
Lennear is arguably one of the best playmakers in the 2027 recruiting class. He committed on March 6 and decided to shut down his recruitment and to lock in on the Hurricanes. Lennear has the playmaker ability in his bag and always seems to deliver in big moments. As former Hurricanes receiver Santana Moss likes to say: “big time players, step up in big games.”
The list is headlined by five-star Brysen Wright and five-star Texas commit Easton Royal. This past season, Lennear represented Miami Northwestern, where he led them to an overall record of 13-1 before falling 23-22 in the state championship to the Raines Vikings. He put up solid numbers for the Bulls, recording 20 receptions for 381 yards and seven touchdowns. Ahead of his senior season, he transferred to Miami Carol City hoping to claim the 2A FHSAA State Championship.
According to the 247Sports Composite Recruiting Rankings, he is currently viewed as a five-star prospect. He ranks as the No. 12 overall prospect, No. 3 wide receiver, and No. 3 player out of the Sunshine State. The Hurricanes currently have a total of four five-star players committed in the 2027 recruiting class. Lennear headlines the class including Donte Wright, Israel Abrams, and Jaiden Bryant.
