Matthew Cleveland did not hear his name called during the 2025 NBA Draft, but the former Miami Hurricanes small forward will still get his shot at the NBA.
According to multiple reports on social media, Cleveland has signed an undrafted free agent deal with the Dallas Mavericks.
A former five-star recruit, Cleveland made a significant impact during his time at Miami. He averaged 17.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game last season, while shooting an impressive 38.2% from beyond the arc.
Among ACC players, Cleveland finished the regular season sixth in scoring (17.6), first in number of 30-point games (three), fourth in field goal percentage (.511), and fifth in number of 20-point games (14).
Cleveland was the cornerstone of the Hurricanes' program, and Miami often struggled to find an offensive rhythm when he wasn’t on the floor.
With his signing, Cleveland joins two other former five-star recruits in Dallas as the Mavericks continue to stockpile young talent.
